Overview

This Cookie Policy explains how YourChoice (“we,” “us,” “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies on our websites and apps (the “Service”). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.

What are cookies and similar technologies?

  • Cookies are small text files placed on your device by your browser.
  • Pixels/Tags are tiny code snippets that load when you visit a page or open an email.
  • Local storage/SDKs are app or browser storage tools used for similar purposes.

Where these technologies collect information that can identify or reasonably be linked to an individual or device (for example IP address or device identifiers), this information is treated as personal information under our Privacy Policy and handled accordingly.

Why we use them

We use these technologies to:

  • Operate and secure the Service (e.g., sign-in, session management, fraud prevention);
  • Remember your preferences (e.g., language);
  • Measure performance and improve features;
  • Where permitted, help us deliver and measure more relevant advertising.
  • Operate and improve the Service and avoid collecting more data than is needed for stated purposes.

Categories we use

  • Necessary (always on): Security, authentication, load balancing, and basic functionality. These are essential and cannot be switched off.
  • Functional: Remember preferences and enhance features (e.g., saved filters, accessibility settings).
  • Analytics: Understand usage (e.g., pages viewed, feature adoption) so we can improve the Service.
  • Advertising: Measure campaigns, limit ad repeats, and—if you allow—make ads more relevant. We do not use cookies to infer or target sensitive characteristics such as health conditions, racial or ethnic origin, religion, or sexual orientation.

Legal basis and consent (PIPA)

We aim to process personal information fairly and for specific purposes under Bermuda’s PIPA. For non-essential cookies (Functional, Analytics, Advertising), we rely on your consent where required. In regions that require consent for analytics/ advertising cookies, we will not use them unless you opt in.

How to manage your choices

  • On-site controls: Use the Privacy settings link in our footer to accept or reject non-essential cookie categories at any time.
  • Browser controls: You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Some features may not work without certain cookies.
  • Preference signals: Where legally required, we honor recognized opt-out signals for targeted ads (e.g., Global Privacy Control).
  • Mobile settings: You can reset your device’s advertising ID and adjust tracking preferences in your OS settings.
  • Email pixels: We may use open-tracking pixels in emails. You can reduce pixel loading by viewing emails in plain text or disabling image loading, and you can opt out of marketing emails at any time.
  • Choosing to reject non-essential cookies will not prevent you from accessing core features of the Service.

Examples of technologies we may use

  • Analytics/measurement: e.g., Google Analytics (aggregated usage).
  • Advertising/retargeting: e.g., Google Ads/Tag, Meta Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag (frequency capping, measurement).
  • Infrastructure: CDN/load balancer/session cookies. Partners and tools may change over time. See our Privacy Policy or in-product notices for the most current list.

YourChoice does not sell cookie-derived personal information to third-party data brokers or advertising networks. Any advertising measurement or delivery is conducted through contractual partners acting solely on our instructions. We do not intentionally link cookie data across multiple personal devices unless you have created an account and logged in on those devices for the purpose of providing a consistent user experience.

Retention

  • Necessary: session or up to 12 months.
  • Functional: up to 12 months.
  • Analytics: up to 13 months (then aggregated where possible).
  • Advertising: typically up to 13 months (may vary by partner).

International transfers

We may process information outside Bermuda. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers. Contact our Privacy Officer for details.

Updates to this Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy. For material changes, we’ll provide notice (e.g., a banner or in-product message). The updated policy takes effect when posted unless stated otherwise.
