YourChoice Community Guidelines

Purpose & Tone

YourChoice exists to raise service standards. Reviews must be clear, respectful, and based on first-hand experience. We don’t host personal attacks.

Account authenticity & Identity

You must use accurate account information. Impersonation or misrepresenting your relationship to a provider is not allowed. One person, one account. Accounts created to evade enforcement actions are prohibited.

Who can post (eligibility)

Post reviews only about your own first-hand experience (or as a direct caregiver/ authorized representative). Second-hand/hearsay reviews aren’t allowed.

Timing & Relevance

Keep reviews timely and relevant to the services you actually received. We may remove off-topic or outdated posts that don’t help others make a current decision.

What belongs in a review

  • First-hand experience: what happened, when, outcome
  • Constructive details: what worked, what didn’t, how the provider responded
  • Fair context: be specific; avoid speculation

What does not belong

  • Defamation, harassment, hate speech, threats
  • Private information: full names of private individuals, phone numbers, addresses, emails, account numbers, medical record numbers
  • Sensitive images/docs: faces of private individuals without consent, ID documents, medical records, license plates, credit cards
  • Conflicts & incentives: paid/fake reviews, quid-pro-quo, undisclosed affiliations
  • Spam & manipulation: astroturfing, vote brigading, mass-duplicate posts, automation
  • Coordinated false reporting intended to silence other users or manipulate moderation outcomes is prohibited.

Sensitive reviews & Public-facing roles

Reviews involving healthcare providers, teachers, caregivers, or other public-facing professionals are welcome when they are factual, respectful, and based on firsthand experiences. To protect fairness and privacy, YourChoice may edit or anonymize identifying details, especially when reviews involve minors, patients, or vulnerable individuals. Allegations of harm, discrimination, or professional misconduct may be held for manual moderation or verification before publication.

Photos & Media

Upload only media you created during your experience. No stock images or AI composites presented as real evidence. Follow size/quantity limits. Do not post graphic or identifying images of private people without consent. We may require extra verification before publishing image reviews. By uploading images/files you confirm you own them and consent to our cropping/blurring for privacy. By submitting content you grant YourChoice the limited license described in our Terms of Use to host, display, and moderate that content for platform purposes.

Naming providers or Professionals

You may identify the professional involved in your experience. Keep statements factual and respectful, limited to the service you received. Reviews that make serious allegations (e.g., physical harm, negligence, malpractice) may be held for review. We may edit to remove unnecessary identifiers or request clarification.

Sensitive reviews (Minors, Health, Harm)

If your review involves minors, patients, or vulnerable persons, do not include names or private details. Reviews alleging medical/physical harm, discrimination, or abuse may be edited for privacy, limited in detail, or held for verification before publication. Images may be blurred or removed if they reveal private medical details.

Honesty without harm

We encourage honest, first-hand expression. We don’t censor feedback; we edit or hold posts only when language, personal data, or unverifiable claims could cause unnecessary harm. This helps your story stay published and impactful.

How we edit & When we contact you

We may remove personal identifiers (e.g., switch a name to “the teacher/doctor”), trim private data, or adjust inflammatory phrasing that states opinion as fact. If an edit would materially change meaning, we may ask you to approve a revised version before publishing.

Ratings & Frequency

One review per user per provider per materially new experience. Update your review if your experience changes.

No extortion or review gating

Do not threaten negative reviews to obtain refunds/discounts/services. Do not offer or solicit incentives for reviews. Businesses may not gate reviews (e.g., only invite happy customers).

Self-promotion & Solicitation

Reviews and Q&A aren’t ad spaces. No posts primarily aimed at lead generating or traffic. Providers should use their profile for promotional info and reply factually to reviews.

Provider participation

Providers may post a factual reply. No doxxing, threats, or disclosure of client/patient details.

Reviews alleging harm or injury

  • If your review describes medical or physical harm, YourChoice may require additional verification or edit for privacy before publishing.
  • Images may be blurred or removed if they include identifiable people or private medical details.
  • Reviews alleging criminal conduct, malpractice, or abuse will not be published unless independently verified or already a matter of public record.
  • Reviews on YourChoice do not constitute medical, legal, or professional advice. Users should seek direct professional assistance for urgent or personal matters.
  • YourChoice is not an emergency service or reporting authority. If you are experiencing an emergency or immediate danger, contact local emergency services directly.

Moderation & Enforcement

We may edit for formatting or removal personally identifiable information, refuse, or remove content at our discretion. Violations may lead to:

  • Content removal and a warning
  • Temporary limits (“time-out”)
  • Account suspension
  • Permanent removal and blocking of future accounts (for repeated/serious abuse).

YourChoice does not make findings of fact, legal determinations, or professional judgments about providers.
